Mission Statement (Full)
Welcome to REVIVUS. We are a ministry that exists to glorify our Triune God by providing young men and women with access to the Gospel. We are calling for revival in our own hearts first, expanding in our community and finally throughout the world. As David sang “For the sake of Thy name, O LORD, revive me” (Psalm 143:11). We are calling for a revival! We live not only to reach the lost but to also provide an avenue for young Christians to get involved and be used as disciples of Jesus Christ. As Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.” We believe that young Christian men and women should be involved in ministry at a young age. Much like Timothy, we don’t want them to be looked down upon because of their youth, but to use the gifts given to them by God. We believe the best way to do this is by sharing the gospel. In Philemon 6 Paul’s prayer is “that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” Our goal is to help equip young men and women with the gospel so they not only can reach the lost, but will also have a full understanding of what they have in Christ.
One way we do this is by equipping our young men and women with a clear and Biblically accurate understanding of the Gospel, with the foundation firmly found in Jesus and Doctrine-laden teachings that will equip our youth with the adequate knowledge of scripture. Enabling them to do as 1 Peter 3:15 states, “sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” We believe the best way to have a defense to everyone who asks is by doing as 1 Timothy 4:16 states, “Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.” This is something we take very seriously at REVIVUS and we hope you do as well. We want young men and women to have the best understanding of doctrine, of their own faith, and take heed of it themselves.
Another way we at REVIVUS enjoy reaching out is by putting on events that are not only Christ-centered, but also use the power of music given to us by God to glorify Him. At REVIVUS we love to use examples of how music was used by the ones who came before us. In Psalm 40:3 David said, “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD.” You see, David used his ‘new song of praise’ to reach the lost, even bringing people to reverence and trust in The LORD. You will also see that David used his harp for spiritual warfare in 1 Samuel 16:23, “So it came about whenever the evil spirit from God came to Saul, David would take the harp and play it with his hand; and Saul would be refreshed and be well, and the evil spirit would depart from him.” We are praying that God-glorifying music moves the evil spirits away from the lost and opens up the heart for God’s work to take root in them. We know that “the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4), so we want to use music as a means of warfare as they did in 2 Chronicles 20:22. However this warfare is of the spiritual kind. Remember that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, “but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12.
This is just one of the many ways that we wish to be obedient to our Lord in reaching the lost. We believe God has led us to call for revival through street evangelism, bible studies, scripturally-based clothing, and fellowship, just to name a few. We are told in God’s word that “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” Matthew 9:37-38. At REVIVUS we know that there is plenty to harvest out there and we praise the Lord that we are able to go out and tell people about Jesus and what He has done for us. Just as Paul told the Church at Ephesus in Acts 20:24, “But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.” That is what we want to do here at REVIVUS and this is our goal – to advance the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We invite you to be a part of this ministry and help us to bring the gospel not only to our neighboring communities, but to all the world. We thank you and praise God for you and appreciate you stopping by.
Our prayer is that we glorify the Most High.
God bless,
